The Gardening Club (formerly The Rock Garden Venue) has seen over 30,000 signed and un-signed bands perform live on stage throughout its 30 year history. U2 performed their first ever London gig at The Rock Garden, playing to no more than 30 music industry scouts. Dire Straits held a weekly residency here for a few months before they became megastars and hit the big time. The list is endless, with the likes of Talking Heads, Iron Maiden, The Smiths, The Stranglers and The Police all making appearances.
